90 Days of My Sadhana Ritual: A Journey of Healing, Growth, and Inner Transformation

Ninety days ago, I began what I thought would be a simple 40-day commitment: a 20-minute Sadhana practice. What I didn’t realize at the time was that this small daily ritual would blossom into one of the most profound and transformative journeys of my life.

This practice was born out of necessity. In August, I lost my grandmother to cancer, and her passing left me raw with grief, anger, and a deep, aching sadness. As a mother and wife, my life was already full of responsibilities, but this loss brought a whirlwind of emotions I didn’t know how to process. I needed something—a space, a practice, a ritual—to anchor me through the storm.

Why 40 Days? Why 90 Days?

The commitment to 40 days wasn’t random. A 40-day practice has the power to break habits and patterns embedded in the mind and body. When we show up consistently for this length of time, we begin to rewire our brain, dissolving old thought patterns and creating space for new, supportive behaviors.

But it doesn’t stop there. Continuing the practice for 90 days extends these changes from surface-level shifts to something much deeper. At 90 days, the chemistry of the brain itself begins to change. The practice integrates fully into your life, becoming a part of who you are. You don’t just do the ritual; you embody it.

This scientific and spiritual process of transformation isn’t just theory—it’s something I’ve experienced in the past 90 days. Slowly, with each practice, I’ve felt a strengthening in my mind, a softening in my heart, and a profound sense of clarity and calm emerge from within.

The Birth of My Sadhana

As a longtime student and teacher of yoga, I’ve completed countless 30-day challenges. But this time, I knew I needed something deeper. I designed a 20-minute daily practice flexible enough for a busy householder’s life while still holding the potency of Kundalini, Yin, and Yoga Nidra traditions.

Some days, I practiced in the quiet of the early morning. Other days, it was late at night, after my little ones had gone to bed. And then there were the days when my toddlers climbed all over me as I moved and breathed. It wasn’t always perfect—sometimes my mind wandered, and some days I cried more than I meditated—but every day, I showed up.

Through this consistency, I’ve learned one of the most valuable lessons of all: self-care doesn’t have to be perfect. It simply has to be intentional.

Embracing Sahibi Kriya

As I enter the next chapter of this journey, I’m focusing on Sahibi Kriya, a powerful Kundalini yoga practice often called the "Master of Self" kriya. This practice cultivates inner sovereignty, balance, and grace, helping you align with your truest essence.

Sahibi Kriya works on balancing the mind and heart while strengthening the nervous system, which is essential for navigating life’s challenges. Over 40 days, it dissolves inner conflicts, quiets self-doubt, and builds confidence. Extending the practice to 90 days solidifies these shifts, creating lasting peace and empowerment.

This kriya feels like the perfect companion for the next leg of my journey—helping me deepen my connection to myself and remain steady as I continue to navigate life’s inevitable ups and downs.

A Gift to Myself—and My Family

One of the unexpected blessings of this ritual has been the example I’m setting for my daughters. By carving out time for myself, I’m teaching them that self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential. They see me showing up for myself, prioritizing my well-being, and navigating life with more grace and resilience.

This practice has been a gift not only to me but to my entire family. By filling my own cup, I can show up for them with more patience, presence, and love.
